You get what you pay for
When I originally got this bike I didn't know much about bikes and that was a problem. When you first assemble the bike, everything needs to be adjusted. I don't just mean the seat height, everything. Unless you know what you are doing, take it to a professional to properly put it together. The brakes rub the rim, the derailleurs don't shift properly. A big issue was that the front fork wouldn't move. I noticed after riding it for a while that the shocks had no movement to them at all. If you do choose to get this bike, know that you you get what you pay for which is a cheap bike. I used it to commute to school for a while and at this point have probably put over 100 miles on it. All of the parts have lasted surprisingly long and I have only recently had a major problem. This bike is not good if you plan to upgrade specific parts because the chain doesn't have a master link, the shifters are very difficult to remove, and the bike isn't compatible with lots of other things.
The bike will serve you well if you get the brakes and derailleurs working well. It is good for short term but will not serve you well if you plan to use it as your main bike.

4.00 out of 5 stars reviewVerified Purchaser12/01/2016Very nice bikePurchased for a 8 year old boy for Christmas, black was sold out so I ordered Granite, it's very nice looking paint and I think he will love it. It appears that it will be a good fit with the seat in the lowest position. The Walmart associates were very helpful with the pickup and assembly.Debbie

4.00 out of 5 stars reviewVerified Purchaser10/25/201624" Granite Peak RoadmasterI have no complaints. Arrived when they said it would. I assembled it myself. The brakes were assembled on the handlebar wrong*(I had to reverse them) or I would have given it 5 stars Excellent bike for the money and worth the two year warranty I chose to go along with it.Bubba

2.00 out of 5 stars reviewVerified Purchaser10/13/2016didn't lastI bought this bike for my 11 year old son a year and a half ago. Also got the Asurion warrantee. After a year and a half of him riding it to school and around neighborhood with friends it started to break down. grips wore and fell off. I replaced the breaks once. Ultimately the gears stopped changing to the highest gear. the rear derailleur would hit the spokes and not switch to the high gears anymore. the derailleur at the crank always wants to over adjust the chain and it would come completely off the gear. rims warped and needed spoke adjustments. I filed a warranty claim with Asurion and got my money back in 3 days. I will spend a little more money on the next one.Jedicop

5.00 out of 5 stars reviewVerified Purchaser08/25/2016Excellent bike at an excellent price!Perfect bike for 5'1" female adult to learn to ride. Visited several Specialized Bike Stores, with recommended bikes running upwards of $600 and then $149-200 recommended yearly maintenance. A lot of adult beginners give up, so I did not want to make such a large investment and then quit and have an expensive bike sitting in the garage. Went to local walmart and found I could put both feet on ground on this one easily with the seat all the way down (but not so on the the girls's 24" higher) with seat at lowest point. I thought I would have neighbors laughing for a while at an adult learning to ride a bike but this bike has really made learning a piece of cake, it is light, it maneuvers very well, so happy customer here. I can now ride around in it and if it gets damaged, a new one next year would still be slightly over half of maintenance on other ones. For a beginner, this is great. I bought it assembled at the store! The dark grey color is also a plus! Subtle and elegant looking. Fantastic purchase. Purchased 2 year for $7.00Mich

3.00 out of 5 stars reviewVerified Purchaser07/06/2016Nice looking bike for the price, 1 issueWe got this bike for our 11 year old. It is the perfect size for him and looks great. The only issue we had with it was that the handle bar wedge that locks it into place was missing. We pulled one off of another bike we had, which is a good temporary fix, but the handle bar easily becomes loose and have to be tightened often. Will be contacting the manufacturer for a replacement part.kreativekarryalls

5.00 out of 5 stars reviewVerified Purchaser05/24/2016Good bike for priceThis bike is a very nice bike for the price. It is not the high-end quality you get for bikes that cost ten times as much, but at this price it is great and meets our needs. My son is growing quickly, so we didn't want to spend too much. It came partially assembled and I put the rest of the bike together. I do wish for a couple extra dollars they had given us a double ended hex wrench to meet the two different required sizes. A certain European - assemble-it-yourself, company does that and it helps. None of my hex wrenches fit so I had to go to the hardware store to buy a complete set just to get the two sizes I needed to put the bike together. That was a little annoying. As for how long the bike will last before things break or wear out, that remains to be seen. At this point, we are happy with its initial quality-to-price.MrsCfromMichigan
